Located in the western part of Kinmen Island, Jincheng Town faces the Jinlie Waterway and has a view of the small Kinmen. With a long history of development, it has a population of 2,5000, who dwell in eight villages, namely the Dong, Si, Nan, Bei, Sian-an, Jinshuei, Gucheng and Jhusa. Historic and scenic sites can be found everywhere in the town. As a town with beautiful scenery and talents, it is the governmental, cultural, financial, transportation and commercial center of Kinmen County.
This town has rich tourism resources with a diversity of styles. We you come to the traditional villages in Shueitou, Jhushan and Oucuo, the well-preserved building groups with southern Fuchien style will make you feel like walking through a time tunnel towards history. Setting foot on Jhuoshan Tunnel, Jiangong Island, Syongshih Fort, the scene that the two sides of the sea are at war would be displayed again. And if you are visiting the Jiesiao Fang, the Department of General, the Wentai Tower, and other ancient buildings, the magnificence of these historic sites will attract you deeply. Walking in the Jyuguang Road and the Mofan Street of Jincheng Town, you will surely be nostalgic for the ancient time. While savoring traditional snacks and food of Kinmen, you are absorbing the local flavor of the town. In a word, every tree and every blade of grass may attract the eyes of the tourists.
In Tang Dynasty, Yuen Chen, the Marquise Muma, led people with 12 surnames to Kinmen to reclaim land. Jincheng was the first town being developed in Kinmen. Many famous characters have stayed in Jincheng, such as Si Zhu in South Song Dynasty, Ta-you Yu in Ming Dynasty, Koxinga (the king of Yanpin Prefecture) in Ming Dynasty, and I-hai Jhu (The King of Lu) in Ming Dynasty. Jincheng has long been the living, administrative, economic, educational and commercial center of Kinmen County.
In recent years, with the communication and coordination made by the town office and the assistance and cooperation with all circles, Jincheng Town completed the “Construction and Beautification Project of Fongwei Ditch and Surrounding Parking Place,” “Road Improvement and Parking Lot Construction Project of Fukang and Jincheng New Villages,” “Construction Project of Minsheng Parking Lot,” “Construction Project of Parking Lot of Siangyang Jidi Community,” “Beautification Project of Underground Pipeline and Road Pavement in the Ancient Villages Such as Shuitou Village, Ancian Village, Houfeng Harbor, Jinmencheng, and Other Areas,” “Huandou South Road (Improvement Project for Road from Zhushan to Houhu),” “Beautification Project of Landscaping and Road Blocks Pavement for Jincheng Street ” “Beautification Project for Jinmencheng, Guanli, Sihhu, Guanlubian, Siancuo villages and etc.,” “Agricultural Landscaping Renovation and Beautification Project for Pearl Lake, West Lake, Simenwai, Siaosimen, Guanli, Dongsha, Oucuo etc,,” “Construction Project for Community Centers in Cianshuitou, Jinmencheng, Sianju etc.”

1. Cooperating with the existing plan for Sih Lake scenic area with, to encourage private investment intourism resort development, so as to promote the development of the surrounding.
2. Cooperating with the establishment of city business district, to promote to large-scale tourist hotel investment.
B. Tourism Resources Development and Integration
1. To integrate the military to release military resources, combining with rehabilitation of Yannanshan College, to develop the Military Experiencing Park.
2. To integrate the national park to preserve tourism resources of village and to create business opportunities around.
3. To develop the coastal landscape resources of the south coast on the north side of Wu River to link up the recreational open line for Jincheng coast.
C. Urban Development and Renewal
1. Cooperating with the new urban plan, to develop new villages on the west side of Jincheng New Village and on the east side of Dacheng Hotel.
2. To strive to expand the plan and establishment of urban residential districts and commercial areas around Jincheng.
D. To create a new image
1. To implement land-use in Shuitou Commercial Harbor.
2. To integrate neighboring areas of Shuitou Commercial Harbor, to link Tashan, Maoshan tower, Chih-hui Pavilion Park etc. to create a new landscape image.
E. To improve the living environment of urban and rural.
